DBA (Doing Business As)

A DBA — short for "Doing Business As" — is a trade name or fictitious name that a business uses instead of its legal name. For example, if someone forms an LLC called "Smith Enterprises LLC" but wants to operate a coffee shop called "Main Street Coffee," they would file a DBA. In Missouri, DBAs are filed with the Secretary of State.
