The Taormina Firm participates in Read Across America.

On Monday, March 2, 2020, Vince Taormina of The Taormina Firm was proud to participate in Read Across America at Columbia Elementary School in St. Louis.  Read Across America is an initiative by the National Education Association to motivate kids to read, bring the joys of reading to students of all ages, and to make all children feel valued and welcome.

Vince spent over an hour with a group of Kindergartners, reading Dr. Seuss’s classic One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, and playing a round of Dr. Seuss bingo.  These bright young people were attentive and inquisitive, and were excited to see a positive, male role model, such as Vince, reading and spending time with them.  Reading connects all people—from the poorest to the riches, from Black to white, and from young to old.  Reading has also been proven to enhance positive brain development in young children.  The younger a person reads, and the more frequent they read, the more likely they will be to graduate from high school and college.  To play even a small part in the development and growth of these children at Columbia Elementary School was the highlight of the year so far.
